Consul General of the State of Israel in Istanbul
Hatan was born in 1965 in Haifa, Israel. He earned his B.A and M.A degrees in political science from Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Hatan started to serve in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995.
Following the cadet course, Hatan served as the First Secretary of the Israeli Embassy in Ethiopia between 1997 and 2000, then as the Vice Consul General of the Consulate General of Israel in Istanbul between 2000 and 2002 before he started to serve as the First Secretary of the Europe Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2006 Hatan was appointed to the Israeli Embassy in Rome as a Political Counselor. After his posting in Rome, he started to serve as Minister-Counselor in Europe Divison in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2010. Hatan served as the Director of the Department for World Religions in the Bureau of World Jewish Affairs and World Religions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2013 and 2016.
In 2016 he was appointed as the Permanent Representative of Israel to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Between 2019 and 2023 he served as a Minister in Europe Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
In 2023 Hatan strated to serve as the Consul General of Israel in Istanbul.
