MASHAV- Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation: Role

At the Embassy of Israel in India, MASHAV Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation plays a pivotal role in promoting advanced Israeli technologies in the fields of agriculture and water.

These technologies are tailored to local Indian conditions leveraging knowledge accumulated over decades of innovation and experience. MASHAV activities include water management and irrigation; environment and climate change; applied research and innovative approaches, agro-technologies and agricultural extension.

Currently, there are 33 fully operational Centers of Excellence under the Indo-Israel Agricultural Project spread across India, and about 17 are in making.

In addition, two Centers for Water Technologies are being established in Chennai in collaboration with IIT Madras and AMRUT Mission, and another in Greater Noida in partnership with IIT Roorkee and National Mission for Clean Ganga.

MASHAV also focuses on human capacity building through its ‘train the trainer’ approach, sharing Israel’s expertise and development experience. It offers courses on a diverse range of subjects, conducted both in India and in Israel, to empower individuals and drive sustainable progress.
