Issuance of travel documents (passport) for citizens and residents of Israel

This service enables Israeli citizens and residents who are abroad to submit an application for a non-biometric Israeli travel document (passport)
Required Documents To Apply
Two recent photos (against a white background, with full front view of face, measuring 5x5 cm).
The travel document that is to be renewed.
A document proving Israeli citizenship – in case of an application for a first Israeli travel document.
Required presence at the Consulate
If the application is for a first travel document, the applicant must appear in person at the mission.
If the application is for the renewal of an expired document, the application together with the required documents can be sent by mail to the mission in the country where the applicant is staying.

The applicant must arrive with all the documents to the Israeli mission in the country of residence..

The application with all the accompanying documents can be sent by mail, according to the instructions on the website of the mission.

Please note: 
When sending by mail, you must send the original documents and keep photocopies.
To visit the mission, it is necessary to schedule an appointment in advance.

General Information

  • A citizen who is 16 years and 4 months old and has not yet arranged his military status is requested to fill out the Military Status Arrangement form. For more information, visit the service page.
  • A citizen who made Aliyah to Israel and did not settle in the country is entitled to an Israeli Travel Document instead of a national passport. For additional information, you can refer to the Israeli Passports Law by clicking here.
  • The expiration date of a passport can be up to five years. The consular officer will determine the new passport's expiration date based on the citizen's eligibility.​
  • A travel document cannot be issued to a citizen residing in Israel.
  • A citizen whose passport was issued more than ten years ago must include a copy of a current identification card (a State ID or a foreign passport is accepted in the absence of an updated Israeli identification document).
  • In the case of a passport renewal after loss/theft, include an updated identification document (Israeli or local), and a declaration for a lost/stolen passport, Click here to download the form

Security instructions for people who wish to obtain consular services:
1. Arrive on the 3rd floor where the lobby is situated and inform security personnel that you have an appointment.
2. You will undergo a security screening, please cooperate fully with security protocols, which include a thorough inspection of your person and belongings.
3. Show a Photo ID. 
4. Restricted Items such as bags, handbags, suitcases, food, beverage bottles, and containers are strictly prohibited inside the Consulate.
5. Mobile Phones are allowed inside but must be kept accessible for inspection during security screening.
