A new chapter of Israel-Hong Kong partnership

The re-inauguration of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong was held yesterday in a special gathering where dozens of representatives of Israeli companies in Hong Kong, Hong Kong business and industry leaders, and friends celebrated together a new chapter of Israel-Hong Kong partnership.
Consul General of Israel Amir Lati said at the event that the newly established chamber of commerce is a platform that would, side by side with the Consulate, assist more companies to get to know the potential in each side and will serve as a platform for networking as well as to exchanges business ideas and opportunities.
He also said that while Hong Kong is one of the top five export destinations for Israeli companies, Israel is Hong Kong’s second largest trade partner in the Middle East. The potential between the places is far from being exhausted, as Israel is home to more than 8,000 tech companies, and Hong Kong places increasing importance in fostering innovation.
Among the speakers were the guest of honour Member of the HKSAR Legislative Council Hon Duncan Chiu, Israel’s Commercial Consul Einav Nixon, the newly appointed Chairman of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce Noy Elram, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce CEO Patrick Yeung, and Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries Ricky Chan.
