MASHAV, in Hebrew an acronym for the Agency for International Development Cooperation, is a department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and serves as Israel's national aid agency. It focuses on recruitment, development, and implementation of foreign aid policy to developing countries. In the scope of MASHAV's activities, training and consultancy occur in areas where Israel can contribute significantly: agriculture in all its aspects, health, education, women's empowerment, community development, regional planning, small businesses, entrepreneurship, and more.
Our activities at the Embassy include:
Sending professionals from relevant fields in Honduras to Israel for training and courses. These programs facilitate the transfer of knowledge, technology, and experience gained in Israel through the training of Honduran personnel. Courses are conducted at MASHAV centers in Israel in Spanish or English, covering community policing, water management, education, at-risk youth, health system management, and more.
Community and humanitarian projects funded and initiated by the Embassy, such as school renovations, refurbishment of a dining room and food donation at an orphanage, food donations to organizations assisting women in distress (Red Mujeres), water tank renovations in vulnerable neighborhoods, sports uniforms donation to a youth football team, donation of 800 kg of essential medical supplies (during the COVID-19 pandemic), and more.
Webinars and online courses: Professional courses and further training conducted online by Israeli experts in Spanish, covering various fields. The Embassy identifies suitable participants, primarily from the public sector, enabling them to apply the knowledge learned in their respective fields in Honduras.
"Shalom" Club: A club that connects graduates of MASHAV courses from various countries. Initiated by MASHAV, the club aims to maintain connections with former trainees and foster relationships among them. Through the "Shalom" Club, the Embassy keeps in touch with former trainees, assists with information dissemination, identifies candidates for new courses, and more.
