Bilateral Relations between Israel and the Republic of Honduras
The State of Israel and the Republic of Honduras maintain official diplomatic relations. Over the years, the countries have engaged in cooperation in the fields of foreign policy, economy, trade, security, and culture. The Honduran Embassy in Israel is located in the capital of Israel Jerusalem, and the Israeli Embassy in Honduras, in its’ capital Tegucigalpa.
Honduras officially recognized the state of Israel, becoming the 18th country to do so.
The first Israeli envoy presented his credentials to the President of Honduras.

During the UN General Assembly vote condemning the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Honduras was one of nine countries voting against the resolution.
Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez, declared recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the opening of diplomatic representation in the city. In September of the same year, he visited Israel to inaugurate the commercial office of Honduras in Jerusalem
An Israeli aid mission was sent to Honduras, after Honduras suffered significant damage from hurricanes ETA and IOTA.
February. Israel provided Honduras with COVID-19 vaccines.
June. The Honduran Embassy in Jerusalem was inaugurated in the presence of the President of Honduras and the Honduran Foreign Minister. During this visit, bilateral agreements were signed in agriculture, water management, health services, education, and the exchange of information on innovative developments between Honduras and Israel.
November. The Israeli Embassy in Tegucigalpa was officially inaugurated.
An event commemorating the arrival of the immigrant ship Exodus to the port of Haifa took place at the National Maritime Museum in Haifa, where the Honduran flag was raised, symbolizing Honduras' humble and historical contribution to the establishment of the State of Israel.
