About the embassy

General information about the Israeli Embassy in Honduras:

The Embassy of Israel in Honduras is a relatively new diplomatic mission. The inauguration of the Embassy took place in November 2021 in Tegucigalpa. Until 2021, diplomatic relations with Honduras were covered from our Embassy in Guatemala.

Honduras and Israel share historical connection that dates back more than 75 years since the establishment of the State of Israel.

In May 2021, Honduras officially opened its Embassy in Jerusalem, becoming one of four embassies which operate in the capital of Israel.

The Embassy's primary focus is to strengthen the relationship between Israel and Honduras through different types of cooperation in various areas. The embassy is actively engaged in providing technical assistance and development projects in the fields of agriculture, health, infrastructure, and security.

Additionally, the Embassy conducts humanitarian assistance, particularly in support of vulnerable populations, and it promotes professional training for Honduran individuals in various fields through collaboration with the International Cooperation Department (MASHAV).

Furthermore, the Embassy handles consular matters and provides services to Israeli citizens, including passport renewal, personal status arrangements, notarized documents, military status arrangements, assistance for citizens facing difficulties, and processing entry requests to Israel and residency permits.
