One year has passed since the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.
On Monday night (7/10), the Israeli Embassy commemorated the October 7 massacre, where more than 3,000 Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel, murdered, raped and kidnapped innocent Israeli civilians. The event took place at Metrocinemas in Novacentro and brought together the international diplomatic corps, members of the government, the Jewish community and friends of the Embassy to honor the victims and the kidnapped with a symbolic ceremony and screening of the documentary “#Nova.”
During the ceremony, Ambassador Nadav Goren and Deputy Head of Mission Dafna Danenberg lit candles and later, the guests joined in a moment of silence, in honor of those whose lives were taken and for those who are still kidnapped.
In his speech, Ambassador Goren said, "We must ensure that those who seek to eradicate peace, security and coexistence in the region will hopefully never succeed in their evil mission." This is not just an Israeli cause, but a global cause that demands vigilance and a firm stance against terrorism.”
The documentary “#Nova,” screened during the event, tells the story of the hundreds of people who were at the Nova music festival in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. While they were celebrating music and life, Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel and attacked the festival. The documentary compiles videos, photos and text messages from people who attended the music festival, before and after the attack. “This film takes us through the events of that dark day and its aftermath, offering an account of what happened during the brutal massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists,” Ambassador Nadav Goren said in his speech.
The commemoration in Tegucigalpa is just one of thousands of commemorations honoring the victims of the October 7, 2023 massacre, which took place around the world on Monday.
