The donation will help more than 380 Honduran families affected by Tropical Storm Sara.
At the request of the Government of Honduras for international assistance to support communities affected by Tropical Storm Sara, the Embassy of Israel in Honduras has contributed to humanitarian efforts by delivering hygiene items. The Embassy of Israel provided items for more than 380 families and delivered them to the Permanent Contingency Committee (COPECO).
The items will be immediately distributed to vulnerable families in communities in the northern region, who suffered flooding and temporary displacement in the wake of Tropical Storm Sara. The items delivered were identified as priority needs by the Government of Honduras and include diapers, wet wipes, soap and toilet paper.
The Israeli Ambassador to Honduras, Nadav Goren, expressed his solidarity with the Honduran people during the delivery: "There is a long-standing friendship between the people of Honduras and the people of Israel. Over the years it has always been important for us to assist the Hondurans in their time of need. The State of Israel stands by the communities affected by Tropical Storm Sara during the current emergency, recognizing that there will be a long road to recovery. The Embassy will continue to seek to assist vulnerable Honduran communities in need."
For his part, COPECO Minister José Jorge Fortin expressed his gratitude to the Israeli Embassy for this valuable donation, "We thank you in advance, on behalf of our President and the entire government, believe me that this aid will be used and directed to the people who need it most... this also serves to strengthen the ties of friendship between both countries that we have had for years."
This donation aims to provide immediate assistance to families who have been affected by the natural phenomenon. The donation is another example of Israel's commitment to the Honduran people and the well-being of communities in need, highlighting the importance of solidarity in times of crisis between both nations.
