During her visit, Erika shared the incredible actions of Emilie and Oskar Schindler, documented in the memoir Where Light and Shadow Meet, which she wrote with Emilie Schindler. As depicted in the movie, Schindler’s List, the Schindlers saved the lives of 1,200 Polish-Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. Erika's close relationship with the author, Emily Schindler, led her to translate Emilie’s powerful stories, and she encouraged our young learners to value unity, bravery, and compassion.
