ABOUT THE EMBASSY

The Embassy of Israel in Accra was re-opened in September 2011 after 38 years of stalled relations. Ghana is one of the first African countries to establish relations with the State of Israel. The relations between Israel and Ghana dates back to 1958, when then Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, visited Ghana.

Since its reopening, the Embassy has worked to strengthen the good relations between the State of Israel, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Israel-Ghana relations is mainly projected on the following diplomatic engagement lines;

  • Bilateral relations on Government-to-Government levels, mainly focusing on politics, multilateral relations, and development cooperation.
  • Business to Business engagement which is mainly driven by our Economic and Trade Mission, one of four missions in Africa driving business and trade relations cooperation in both the private and government sectors.
  • People to People engagements, focusing on public diplomacy, culture and others.
