On Friday, 8th November, the Embassy partnered with the TEN team in Ghana and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to hold a knowledge exchange workshop on Therapy Approaches to Autism.
On Friday, 8th November 2024, the Embassy partnered with the TEN team in Ghana and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to hold a knowledge exchange workshop on Therapy Approaches to Autism.
The workshop focused on sensory processing and regulation; and augmentative and alternative communication.
Gracing the occasion was H.E. Mr. Roey Gilad. He expressed gratitude to the TEN health team and the 16 participating health professionals from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital. He indicated that the health sector is a priority to the State of Israel and as such looks forward to more collaboration to enhance the sector.
TEN is a service-learning program that takes place in Israel and developing regions around the world. Volunteers participate in an integrated curriculum that focus on Jewish values and community. In Ghana, they are based in Winneba, supporting local communities in education and healthcare.
The health team comprised of professionals with expertise in Speech & Language Therapy and Physiotherapist.
