In the heart of Tbilisi, near the famous Bridge of Peace, an Israeli olive tree garden was planted, dedicated to the heroism of the Israeli people since October 7th and to the deep bond between the nations of Israel and Georgia.

In the heart of Tbilisi, near the famous Bridge of Peace, an Israeli olive tree garden was planted today, dedicated to the heroism of the Israeli people since October 7th and to the deep bond between the nations of Israel and Georgia.

At the ceremony organized by the Israeli Embassy to mark Israel's 76th Independence Day, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, esteemed members of Parliament, civil society leaders, Israeli friends, and foreign dignitaries participated. Notable among the special guests were Moran Ben Yishai and Yair Moses, children of Gadi Moses, a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz, who has been abducted in Gaza since October 7th. Gadi, a seasoned Mashav expert in agricultural training, has visited Georgia numerous times to assist local farmers in enhancing productivity and advancing agricultural development. Many of his Georgian colleagues were present at the event, as his children described Gadi’s love to Georgia and Georgians.

Ambassador Hadas Meitzad spoke about the months of warfare and the anxious wait for all the hostages to be returned home. She praised the Israeli spirit of heroism and resilience, reflected not only in battles but also in reconstruction projects aimed at prosperity and progress: “In the face of those who sought destruction, we plant seeds of progress and innovation for the benefit of humanity.”Ambassador Meitzad highlighted the unwavering support of Georgia's leaders and the wider public for Israel since October and praised the garden, planted together, as a faithful symbol of the enduring bond and of Gadi Moses' contribution to fostering connections between nations through agricultural work, leaving a future legacy. We eagerly await his next visit to Georgia.
