In the event that an Israeli citizen reports the loss of his passport to the Israeli police or local police and subsequently finds his passport, it is the citizen's responsibility to know that the loss of his passport has already been reported to all INTERPOL police around the world and his passport is now listed as lost/stolen. Details of this passport will be forwarded to the Global Lost/Stolen Passports Database Centre.
This citizen will therefore never be able to use his passport again and risks being prohibited from entering or leaving border crossings in certain countries.
In the above-mentioned case, the citizen is required to have a travel document which will be made to him and given to the Israeli consular representations of the country in which he is located.
