Independence Day

On June 18 we celebrated Israel's 76th National Day in the Jewish Community. 

Celebrations this year started with a concert in the Synagogue with the Berlin-based trio, consisting of Nur Ben Shalom on clarinet, Michael Cohen-Weissert on piano and the Serbian cellist, Iren Jozefoska, all international musicians who have performed in major concert halls worldwide. The trio performed a moving musical program by Israeli composers with messages of coexistence and hope.

After the concert we hosted a reception with "The Daily Postcard" exhibition as a backdrop. The exhibition shows illustrations by the Israeli artist Ze'ev Engelmayer, whose pictures have been shown around the world. 

The illustrations honor the Israeli hostages abducted by Hamas during the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, portraying the pain and fear of the relatives, but also spreading hope and comfort.
