The Public Diplomacy Department engages in a variety of public outreach efforts, aiming to foster better understanding and to build strong relationships among the people of the two countries.

It is comprised of the Press and Communication Office and the Cultural Affairs Office.

 

The Press and Communication Office serves as the Embassy’s point of contact for press inquiries. The tasks include monitoring the daily press and tracking media opinion on issues of interest to Israel. The office arranges interviews and press briefings and prepares and disseminates statements and press releases.

 

The Cultural Affairs Office works on to presenting Israel’s many facets in as diverse a range of activities. In promoting cultural ties between Cyprus and Israel, the Office supports a variety of cultural events that highlight Israel’s artistic excellence and encourage cross-cultural understanding and collaboration.

 

Holocaust education, as well as raising awareness of the historic bonds created during the period of the Detention Camps for Jewish Holocaust survivors in Cyprus, is yet another main task of the office’s work.
