Bilateral Relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Israel since 1962.
Côte d'Ivoire and Israel have maintained strong bilateral relations for over 50 years, briefly interrupted from 1973 to 1980. The relationship began in 1962 with Ivorian President Félix Houphouët-Boigny's visit to Israel and his initiative to plant 10,000 trees, creating the “Forêt Félix Houphouët Boigny”. Notable events include the 1987 visit of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and the 1993 Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize awarded to Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres. Relations were further strengthened by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara's 2012 visit to Israel. In July 2023, Côte d'Ivoire's Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet KONE met with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli COHEN, marking a new phase in economic cooperation.
