Consul General of Israel to the Midwest
Yinam Cohen is the Consul General of Israel to the Midwest.
He is a career diplomat with 19 years of experience in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Before arriving in Chicago, he served as Senior Policy Advisor to Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.
Prior to that, he served as the Director of the UN Political Affairs Department. His previous missions include Deputy Chief of Mission in Madrid (Spain), Spokesperson in Berlin (Germany), and Deputy Chief of Mission in Bogota (Colombia).
Prior to his diplomatic career, Consul General Cohen worked as a strategic consultant at the business sector.
He holds an MBA (cum laude), as well as B.Sc. in Computer Science, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Consul General Cohen speaks English, Hebrew, Spanish and German.
