As part of the bilateral cooperation between the State of Israel and the Republic of Cameroon, two high-level training courses in French were held in Cameroon. The first course, held from 16 to 18 December 2024, focused on mango and avocado cultivation-management, technologies and extension. The course was led by Israeli experts Mrs. Tammy Erann-Soussan, an agricultural extension expert and Head of the French-speaking Countries Division at MASHAV's MATC International Agricultural Training Centre, and M. Emmanuel Dassa, an expert in subtropical fruit trees. The training was aimed at agricultural engineers as well as instructors and trainers from agricultural training Centres and universities involved in projects and programmes in the field of subtropical fruit growing, with a particular focus on mango and avocado cultivation.
The second training course, from 16 to 19 December 2024, focused on capacity building for community development. The course was led by Israeli expert Dr. Shachar Re'em, Director of MASHAV Carmel Golda Meir International Training Centre for Socio-Economic Development. The programme was aimed primarily at managers from ministries, universities and NGOs involved in promoting community development through innovation at local, regional or national level, as well as those from organisations supporting socio-economic change and involved in community development projects.
