Ambassador Eynat Shlein, Director General of the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation, MASHAV, has made an unprecedented working visit to Cameroon.
The Israeli diplomat held a series of high-level meetings with members of the Cameroonian government. In particular, she met the Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, the Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, the Minister of Public Health, and the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Crafts and the Social Economy. During these meetings, discussions focused on ways of strengthening cooperation between Israel and Cameroon in these sectors.
The Mashav Director also had the opportunity to meet former MASHAV trainees, who on their return from Israel have set up projects that have had a lasting impact on their communities. One of the trainees, Mr Hissene Hassan, gave a presentation on the implementation of drip irrigation techniques in several development programmes in Cameroon. Now a consultant, he shares his experience and know-how wherever he is called upon.
The international news programme GLOBE WATCH on Cameroon's national television channel was delighted to welcome Ambassador Eynat Shlein for an exclusive interview with star journalist Charles Ebune Ndoh. The audience was thus able to learn a great deal about Mashav's work around the world.
Ambassador Eynat Shlein's visit then continued in Gabon. There, with the aim of proposing opportunities for development and economic cooperation, she also met a number of officials from the Republic of Gabon, including Prime Minister Mr. Ndong Sima and officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Health and Social Affairs.
