To mark the International Day for the Eradication of Sexual Violence in Conflict, which is celebrated every year on June 19, the Israeli Embassy in Yaounde marked the day with a women's gathering on this emotional and important topic.
The meeting took place on June 28 and was attended by women from various fields: diplomacy, academia, social activities, entrepreneurship, nuns, teachers, artists and women from the medical professions.
In the opening speech, Samdar Kalmer, the wife of the Israeli ambassador to Cameroon, said: "For the Israeli embassy in Cameroon, this is a special day because Israeli women are still being held hostage in Gaza by a terrorist organization."
It is not known where they are, their state of health is not known or if they are sexually assaulted, we do not know anything about their fate.
All we want is for them to be released immediately with all the other abductees.
Samdar showed the audience the photos of the abductees, one by one (including Biebs children Ariel and Kafir), citing their names and ages. After that, the film "Screams Before Silence" was screened. Which was created under the leadership of Sheryl Sandberg and directed by Anat Stalinsky documenting the sexual violence committed by Hamas terrorists during the attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, in particular during the Nova festival, as well as the women who were kidnapped to Gaza during that day..
After the screening of the film, in an emotional, painful and difficult atmosphere that the film left, there was a demonstration of self-defense techniques for women that teaches self-defense during an attack.
