Ambassador held fruitful meetings including with the mayor, with representatives from Hashomer Hatzair and attended the jazz festival
During his visit, he met with the Mayor of Bansko Municipality, Mr. Stoycho Banenski, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in various fields between the municipality and Israel
The visit was followed by a lecture and discussion with hundreds of young people from the "Hashomer Hatzair" movement, who are at a summer camp in Bansko this year from different countries, including Hungary, Switzerland, Belgium, France, USA, Canada, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, and others. Ambassador Sfari shared with the youth that he listened with pain to their life experiences as Jews in the diaspora. He emphasized that the attack on Israel on October 7th was accompanied by a shocking wave of anti-Semitism, which, however, reinforces the significance of the existence of the State of Israel for the Jewish people.
During his visit, Ambassador Sfari enjoyed the incredible jazz performances at the Bansko Jazz Festival and gave an interview to BNR, sharing more about the cultural ties between Israel and Bulgaria.
