Organized by the Davidson Institute of the Weizmann Institute of Science
This unique opportunity offers young scientists the chance to delve into the world of scientific research and discovery by meeting and engaging with scientists and interacting with their peers throughout the world in an open, respectful, and creative environment. Students discuss fascinating ideas and concepts in a variety of fields, asking questions that trigger curiosity and pave the way for future scientific discovery. This international club has participants from different countries, communicating with one another both within online meetings, and through a Discord server (a popular online gaming platform) which is the platform for our club. The platform functions as the international meeting place where participants communicate off-hours and discuss their interests, and experiences in a scientifically fact based, respectful, open-minded atmosphere, that welcomes diverse ideas and views.
The Windows international club online sessions are conducted monthly in English and explore the cutting-edge scientific research of the Weizmann Institute, debate ethical questions in science, and discuss career-related life choices of scientists.
Audience:
International participants ages 15-25
Time:
Monthly online meetings on Sunday afternoons, starting October 27th, 2024, at 17:00 Israel Standard Time.
Meetings will also introduce the Weizmann Institute’s cutting-edge scientific studies, as they engage in eye-level conversations with the scientists involved, in a lab environment. Prior to meetings, participants will receive tutorials and preparation sessions in which participants will work together in groups.
All meetings will take place at 17:00 Israel time. Please note that time zones adjust according to daylight savings (GMT +2/3).
