The document, which builds upon the existing Agreement on Cooperation in Healthcare and Medicine between the Republic of Bulgaria and the State of Israel, expands the scope of bilateral exchange in this area and paves the way for enhanced cooperation between the two countries. It offers Bulgaria unique opportunities to strengthen its healthcare system through joint initiatives with Israel, one of the global leaders in medical innovations.

The cooperation will provide opportunities for training doctors, nurses, midwives, and other medical personnel in the fields of women’s health and reproductive medicine, as well as for the exchange of information on modern technologies and methods for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. It will also facilitate the exchange of experts in maternal and child health while exploring the possibility of establishing a national children's hospital in Bulgaria, conducting short-term and focused specializations and/or training for young Bulgarian doctors in the State of Israel, and more.

The document encourages the development of scientific and academic activities aimed at improving the quality of outpatient and inpatient healthcare services. Israel's experience will help adapt innovative solutions to Bulgaria's needs, especially in rural areas, where the country is actively working to improve healthcare services.

During the signing of the Cooperation Plan, Minister Dr. Galia Koneva emphasized that this Agreement deepens the healthcare cooperation between our two countries in the most humanitarian field, healthcare. "The Cooperation Plan provides an excellent opportunity for sharing experiences, best practices, and expertise."

Ambassador Yossi Levi Sfari highlighted that "today, we are adding another cornerstone to the cooperation between two friendly countries that share long-standing and warm relations between their peoples. Israel will continue to seek ways to deepen its relationship with Bulgaria."
