Israel and Germany mark 60 years of diplomatic ties in 2025 with joint events like concerts, exhibitions, and discussions to celebrate their partnership and shared future. A commemorative logo by Uri Mor will represent the milestone.
Against the backdrop of a dark past, the fact that Israel and Germany maintain diplomatic relations today is nothing short of a miracle. It is a symbol of hope and, above all, a reason for joy and pride – year after year. Germany is a strategic partner of Israel, second in importance only to the United States.
Both countries are united in their commitment to shared values and their determination to face the challenges of the present together. Sixty years after Prime Minister Ben-Gurion and Chancellor Adenauer officially established diplomatic relations, Germany and Israel will solemnly and emotionally commemorate this historic event.
The year 2025 will feature a wide range of joint events and activities reflecting the diversity and depth of German-Israeli relations: concerts, exhibitions, forums, and discussions will take place alternately in Germany and Israel. These events aim to foster dialogue and deepen the many issues on the agenda. This special year will not only be celebrated in neon-lit offices but will also spill out into the streets to celebrate the connection between people – the most vital element of our relationship. For this reason, the two foreign ministers announced a competition to design a joint logo symbolizing this special relationship. The winning design was created by Uri Mor from the Shenkar College of Design. Congratulations also to the runners-up, Holger Schulze and Jan Kranefeld from Germany!
The logo will accompany all joint activities of this year – whether political, cultural, or civic in nature. The celebrations of the 60th anniversary are not only a look back at an extraordinary history but also a look forward to the future.
The jointly organized events invite the broader public to actively participate in shaping our shared future in light of present challenges. Join us!
