In January 1992, former Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Levy
visited China and signed the Communiqué of the Establishment of Diplomatic
Relations with former Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qian Qichen
and announced the establishment of diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level
between Israel and China.
