The ambassador

Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. George Deek

H.E George Deek
George Deek1

Dear Friends,

I am deeply honored to serve as the Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan, a nation known for its friendship and strategic partnership with Israel.

The bonds between our countries are founded on the fraternal ties between our peoples. For centuries, Jews have lived in Azerbaijan as active and proud citizens, contributing to the common good. Similarly, a vibrant Azerbaijani diaspora thrives in Israel. Both nations proudly champion religious tolerance and diversity, forming the bedrock of our enduring friendship.

Today, our dynamic cooperation spans numerous fields, including trade, education, water, agriculture, energy, security, cyber technology, science, innovation, academia, culture, and tourism. Looking to the future, I am confident that the friendly relations between our countries will continue to grow and flourish, benefiting both our peoples.

On a personal note, I married my wife Anna just a month before my posting in Baku began. Our two children were born and raised during our stay here, leading some friends to call this period an extremely long honeymoon. In many ways, they are right. Azerbaijan has become our first home as a family, and for the warm welcome and sense of home away from home, I will always be grateful to the Azerbaijani people.

I wish the people of Israel and Azerbaijan a future of peace and prosperity.

Sincerely,

George Deek
