Application for deferment of reporting for military service for Israelis staying abroad

This service enables Israeli citizens and permanent residents of Israel who are staying abroad and are candidates for military service, to regularize their status with the IDF.
Required Documents To Apply
Registration form/Application to defer military service for Israeli citizens staying abroad (Form 7202).
Israeli identity card or Israeli passport
Documents supporting the military service deferment application.
Israeli and foreign passport of the parents
Tip
Please email the application scanned as a color PDF file to the consular department. No appointment is needed.
Required presence at the Consulate
The consular representative will decide, at his/her discretion, whether the applicant must appear in person at the mission.
Please note
In the case of minors, both parents must sign the application form next to the applicant's signature.
For your convenience, a form with a section for signatures is attached at the bottom of this page.
Please note
If the applicant holds a foreign passport in addition to their Israeli passport, please attach a copy of this additional passport as well.

Who can apply?

The service is provided to Israeli citizens and permanent residents of Israel, from the age of 16 and 4 months, who live or are staying abroad.

How to apply

By email – The applicant must send the application by email, together with all the required documents plus a photocopy of his/her passport, and if either or both of his parents are Israeli citizens, a photocopy of their passport.

The consular representative will decide, at his/her discretion, whether the applicant must appear in person at the mission.

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.


Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.

Consular fee
Information

To arrange military status for children aged 16 years and 4 months and above, please email the required documents as a scanned, color PDF to the Consular Department at: consular-services@atlanta.mfa.gov.il. No appointment is necessary.

Please include the following:

1.“Registering or Deferring Military Service” form (Form 7202). Please fill out the form digitally and sign it by hand.

2.Copy of the child’s Israeli passport.

– If the child holds a foreign passport, please include a copy of that as well.

3.Copies of both parents’ passports (Israeli and foreign, if applicable).

4.If the parents are divorced, please attach a copy of the divorce decree.

Once received, we will forward the documents to Meitav and update you once a response is received, via our automatic email system (noreply@mfa.gov.il).
