The Embassy of Israel in Argentina works to promote the interests of the State of Israel in various issues - political, economic, cultural and more. The embassy serves as a bridge for communication and fruitful cooperation between Israel and Argentina, two countries that share common values and interests.
The first embassy was established in June 1949 in the capital city of Buenos Aires, and since then it has promoted cooperation and partnerships with the citizens of Argentina, and in particular with the Jewish community in Argentina.
In March 1992, the Israeli embassy was destroyed in a terrorist attack. In the attack, 29 people were murdered and over 200 were injured, including bystanders.
The new embassy is located in the center of Buenos Aires with remnants left after the attack from the old embassy, and with a strong and cohesive team that help and promote the activity at the embassy.
