SHIMON SOLOMON - Ambassador of the State of Israel to Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and São Tomé and Principe

Ambassador Shimon Solomon Eyassu was appointed as the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and São Tomé and Principe on February 7th 2022 and he presented his credentials to Angola’s Foreign Affairs Minister on March 27th, 2022.

 

Most recently, Ambassador Solomon served as the CEO of Kfar Silver Youth Village - Agricultural High School in Israel (2015-2019). Prior to that, he was a Member of the Parliament of Israel - Knesset (2012-2015). He also served as the Director of educational philosophy at Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), a high school for orphaned genocide survivors in Rwanda (2008-2012) and as the Director of Kalisher Absorption Center for immigrants from Ethiopia in Israel (2007-2008). Prior to that, he was the Emissary (Consul) from the Ministry of Interior of Israel in Ethiopia (2005-2007). Additionally, he served as the Director of Employment for Ethiopian Academics (2003-2005) and as the Director of an educational programme for youth directed at nature conservation (2001-2002). Prior to that, Ambassador Solomon served as an Advisor for two Ministers of Education within the Ministry of Education of Israel (1999-2001) and as the Director of a Community Center (1996-1999). He also served as the Advisor for Education to the Minister of Education of Israel (1994-1996). Ambassador Solomon has made a lifelong contribution to various NGO’s, undertaking various duties as a social activist and has served as a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Israel-Africa Chamber of Commerce (2016-2022).

 

Ambassador Solomon holds a BA in Social Work from Ben-Gurion University and an MA in Administration and Educational Policy from the Hebrew University in Israel. Currently, Ambassador Solomon is undertaking a PHD in Education. In addition, Undertook a course in Educational Leadership at the Higher Institute of Educational Leadership - Mandel Institute (1997-1998), a short-course on Dynamic Diagnostic Practice – LPAD – at the International Center for the Discovery of Learning Capabilities - Feuerstein Institute, and a Directors Course at the Berl Katznelson Fund.
