Members of the Israel-Albania parliamentarian friendship group, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Agron Gjekmarkaj, Chairwoman Blerina Gjylameti, MPs Blendi Klosi and Oerd Bylykbashi, as well as the Ambassador of Albania to Israel, Meri Kumbe and the Ambassador of Israel to Albania, Galit Peleg also participated in the meeting.
During her speech, Spiropali emphasized the pride of Albanians for the historical relations with the Jews saying "In difficult times, Albanians of all religions have protected Jews from persecution, especially from the Nazis during the Second World War. They risked their lives and their families, to save the Jews. The friendship between us has been protected and passed through strong trials".
President Herzog expressed his gratitude for the welcoming and appreciated the role of the Albanians in protecting the Jews during difficult times. He congratulated the excellent relations between Albania and Israel in many fields and emphasized the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation. Herzog also praised the cooperation between the Parliament of Albania and the Knesset, guaranteeing his support for the further strengthening of these ties. President Herzog extended an official invitation to Speaker Spiropali to visit Israel.
