Israel's embassies around the world held activities and events to mark 100 days since the October 7th massacre and for the release of the 136 hostages held by Hamas. The events were held together with local partners who expressed support for Israel.

FM Katz: "The October 7 massacre should reverberate all over the world.

The citizens of Israel, together with Jewish communities and supporters of Israel around the world, will never forget the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists and will never let them forget.

The return of all the abductees to their families is the top priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country's diplomats around the world, and will remain so until everyone returns home."

 

Following is a listing of some of the activities of Israel's embassies around the world:

  • The Israeli embassy in Japan: In cooperation with the Israeli community and local supporters, the embassy held a rally in support of Israel and the release of the abductees near the central train station in Shibuya (one of the main intersections in the capital Tokyo). Many passers-by, both local Japanese and tourists, were interested in the rally, scanned the barcodes that were presented to them and asked questions

  • The Israeli embassy in London: Thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square with Israeli flags, yellow balloons and signs calling for the abductees to be returned home. Churches across London joined the "Million Bells" project and rang their bells for the return of the abductees.
  • The Israeli embassy in France: Hundreds of runners participated in a run along the Seine in Paris, and in Nice thousands participated in a bicycle ride along the famous promenade.
  • The Israeli embassy in South Africa participated in an event Participated in support of Israel and marking 100 days. The event was initiated by Christians friends of Israel of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ).

  • The Israeli embassy in India: Israeli diplomats flew 136 yellow kites to mark the 100 days.
  • The Israeli embassy in China: Israel's ambassador to China, Irit Ben-Abba, together with embassy staff cycled around Beijing on yellow bicycles under the #bringthemhome campaign.
  • The Israeli embassy in Holland: as part of the international cycling initiative, a bicycle ride was held throughout the Netherlands led by the Israeli ambassador to the Netherlands Modi Ephraim.

  • The Israeli Mission to the United Nations & International Organizations in Geneva held an event in support of Israel with dozens of participants in front of the UN building in Geneva.
  • The Israeli embassy in Mexico: Hundreds of cyclists participated in the global cycling initiative in the streets of Mexico City spreading a message for the release of the kidnapped.
  • The Israeli embassy in Ghana: Organized a cycling event to mark the 100 days together with a group of young people and with the participation of 70 local cyclists who wore shirts that read "Ride to bring them home". At the end of the event, 136 yellow balloons were released.
  • The Israeli embassy in Guatemala: Organized a 40-kilometer bicycle ride in the capital Guatemala City with the participation of local riders who wore shirts calling for the return of the kidnapped.

  • The Israeli embassy in the Philippines: Promoted a campaign among 11 evangelical churches throughout the Philippines under the title Bring Them Home Alive NOW. As part of the events, rallies were held in support of Israel, a cycling rally and balloons in blue and white colors were released around the country.
  • The Israeli embassy in Myanmar: Donated yellow children's bicycles with the names of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, blew balloons in the air and participated in the ringing of bells and prayer at the Yangon Catholic Church.

  • The Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu, China promoted a campaign of hanging yellow ribbons on olive trees in Chengdu in memory of the 136 abductees held captive by Hamas. 
  • The staff of the Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai, China joined the global cycling initiative. Consulate staff cycled around Shanghai wearing shirts calling for the release of the abductees and took pictures against the background of the city's famous buildings.
  • The staff of the Consulate General in Hong Kong, China and members of the Jewish community joined the global ride for the release of the abductees and marking 100 days since October 7.

  • The Israeli embassy in Australia: Hundreds of cyclists participated in the global cycling initiative on the streets of Melbourne, wearing shirts calling for the return of the abductees. In Sydney, an artistic representation was presented in which 100 photos of the children of the Bibas family were shown, a photo for each day in captivity.
  • The Israeli embassy in New Zealand: Hundreds marched all over the country (Auckland, Wellington, Whangarei and Christchurch) to mark the 100 days of captivity in a call for the release of the abductees. Prayers were held in several churches, including a Samoan church that dedicated its prayer to the release of the kidnapped. There was also a horse-riding event calling for the liberation of the captives.

  • The Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan: Marking the 100th day since the October 7 massacre, Christian communities rang church bells as part of the "Million Bells" project for the return of the abductees. The communities initiated their own slogan - you can help - in addition to calling for the return of the kidnapped.
  • The Embassy of Israel in Chile: With the participation of the Jewish community, two marches for the release of the hostages were held – on towards the Andes mountains and the other towards downtown Santiago.

  • The Embassy of Israel in Romania held an event in the Bucharest City Hall in the presence of dozens of media representatives.
  • The Israeli Embassy in Germany organized a march with the participation of families of abductees, hundreds joined the call to return the abductees home. A concert was also organized by the pianist Igor Levit, calling for the return of the abductee Alon Ehal.
