On January 28, 2025, during her visit to Ukraine, MASHAV Head Einat Shlein carried out a series of activities, including meetings with Ukrainian officials, discussions on initiatives in the fields of mental health and humanitarian aid, and steps toward the country’s post-war recovery.

Visit to the Resilience Center in Kyiv
The first part of the visit included a meeting with Kyiv’s Deputy Mayor, Marina Honda, at the Resilience Center, where psychologists trained through MASHAV programs help people cope with stress and post-trauma. To date, over 9,000 specialists have been trained in trauma and resilience techniques at the center.
MASHAV Alumni Forum
During the visit, the annual MASHAV Alumni Forum took place, with participants actively involved in Israel’s international cooperation programs. Einat Shlein spoke about the humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine, and participants presented projects based on Israeli experience. The forum concluded with a lecture on "Building Personal Resilience," which also relied on Israeli methodologies.
Humanitarian Aid and Ukraine’s Recovery
Later, Shlein, along with Israeli Ambassador Michael Brodsky and his deputy Liron Finkelstein, met with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Maksym Subkh to discuss Israel’s continued support for Ukraine’s recovery after the war. During the working visit in Lviv, Einat delivered portable charging stations to families in need, helping provide electricity for essential needs during power outages. During her time in Lviv, Shlein also met with Lviv Regional Governor Maksym Kozytskyi and Mayor Andriy Sadovyi to discuss future cooperation.
Shlein’s visit to Ukraine strengthened Israel’s support and opened new opportunities for cooperation in mental health, humanitarian aid, and post-war recovery. MASHAV continues to collaborate closely with Ukraine, aiming to ensure sustainable development and long-term support.
