- Due to the limited size of the waiting room and the volume of visitors, a person who does not have an appointment or does not require consular services will not be permitted to enter the Consulate. This includes spouses and family members. Seniors, disabled individuals and minors requiring consular services may be escorted by one (1) other person.
- Every visitor is required to undergo a thorough security check before entering the waiting room. Security directives apply to all those who visit the Consulate. The instructions of the security staff must be obeyed at all times, throughout your visit to the Consulate.
- Do not bring any large bags with you to your appointment including large backpacks, suitcases or duffle bags. Personal purses or bags are allowed.
- Any electronic items (cellphones, headphones, electronic cigarettes, etc.) must be deposited in a safety deposit box (not affiliated with the Consulate) for a fee of $5.00 CAD. You will have access to your devices after your appointment.
- Any food, beverages and containers containing liquids are prohibited from entering the Consulate.
- Please come ready to administer your payment. Cash payments are not accepted - only debit/credit cards (excluding American Express).
Israeli citizens and foreign nationals seeking to prove a family relationship.
Before completing the genetic testing form, make sure you are in possession of a court order for genetic testing.
The documents should be scanned and attached to the Application Form for Genetic Testing to Prove a Family Relationship – Overseas Procedure.
An appointment for the test will be made by an Israeli mission abroad after the following steps have been completed:
Receipt of a court order for the test from the State Attorney's Office.
Proof of payment to laboratories.
Provision of phone numbers for contacting the examinees abroad.
Please note:
The appointment will be scheduled only after the court order has been sent by the State Attorney's Office to the Foreign Ministry and received at the mission.
An additional payment will be charged for sending the tests.
The mission will issue the examinees an invitation to present themselves for testing.
The invitation will be issued only after a civil or religious court order for genetic testing has been received from the State Attorney's Office and the attached form completed.
After the tests have been carried out at the mission, an additional payment may be charged for sending the tests.
The Israeli diplomatic and consular missions abroad have the responsibility to advise, guide and help the consular service recipient to handle matters abroad. The Consulate of Israel in Toronto provides consular services to residents of Ontario and Western Canada, including the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, the Yukon, and Nunavut.
Consular services are provided to those who attend their appointment in person, as well as those who mail in their documents. Some services (as described below) cannot be completed without attending the Consulate location in person.
Please note: appointments will not be scheduled by phone.
For the following services, you must attend the Consulate in person:
- Notification of an Israeli born abroad
- First-time applicants for any Israeli passport or travel documents, irrespective of age
- Renewal or extension of a passport of a minor (the minor is required to attend the Consulate in person as well)
- Changing of personal status i.e. marriage, divorce.
- Notarization of legal documents in front of the Consul
- Reporting and renewal of a lost or damaged Israeli passport or travel document
- Request to renounce Israeli citizenship
- Request for any name change
Instructions for those entering Israel:
- Canadian citizens entering Israel for visits of up to three months are required to carry a valid Canadian passport with an expiry date of at least six (6) months beyond the intended departure.
- For entry into Israel for purposes other than a visit of up to 3 months or for individuals with citizenship other than Canadian, a valid travel document with an expiration date of at least six (6) months beyond the intended departure is necessary. In addition, a visa is required.

The Consulate General of Israel in Montreal is responsible for Eastern Canada (Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador).
The Embassy of Israel in Ottawa is responsible for the eastern part of Ontario (Ottawa up to and including Kingston)
