Yair Castel, Consul and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Yair Castel is a distinguished diplomat and legal expert specializing in administrative matters within the realm of foreign service. Holding a Bachelor's degree and LLB from the College of Management Academic Studies in Israel, as well as a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and Security from Tel Aviv University, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role.
Beginning his career as a legal intern in the Economic Division within The Department for International Agreement and International Litigation, Ministry of Law, Mr. Castel quickly rose to prominence as a leading lawyer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. During his seven-year tenure, he exhibited exceptional legal prowess and dedication.
Currently serving as the Consul and Chief Administrative Officer at the Consulate General of Israel in Toronto and Western Canada, Mr. Castel oversees all administrative requirements and ensures the efficient operation of the Consulate.
As a Consul, he manages a team that performs essential functions for Israelis and other citizens living across Canada such as visa issuance and passport renewal, ensuring the smooth facilitation of commercial affairs for all in the region. With his meticulous attention to detail and administrative acumen, Mr. Castel plays a vital role in supporting the Consulate's mission and serving the needs of the Israeli community abroad.
