On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day honors the six million Jews, including one million children, who perished under Nazi rule.
This year, On the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust and the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Embassy of Israel in Bangkok hosted a solemn gathering to reflect on the past and highlight the importance of Holocaust education.ย
The ceremony began with the lighting of six candles, representing the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. Israeli Ambassadorย Orna Sagiv emphasized the importance of remembrance and the ongoing fight against antisemitism and intolerance.
The event featured remarks by Dr. Ernst Reichel, Ambassador of Germany, on ensuring the atrocities of the past are never forgotten, and by Dr. Tul Israngkura Na Ayudhaya of Chulalongkorn University, who emphasized the need for Holocaust education.
