Request for completions and corrections in the Population Registry and in the Register of Births
This service enables Israeli citizens and residents to submit a request to correct an entry in the Population Registry about themselves and about their minor children below age 18.

Important Update
Please note:
A request to correct a minor's first name requires the consent of both parents.
In a request to correct a date of birth (day and month), if the applicant does not have the original birth certificate, a declaration regarding the date of birth may be made before the consul.
Required Documents To Apply
Request for completions and corrections in the Population Registry or in the Register of Births, in two copies
Identifying document
Foreign passport
Correction of name based on birth certificate: birth certificate
Correction of place or date of birth: original birth certificate, authenticated and translated
Correction of year of birth: original birth certificate, authenticated and translated
Correction of religion or nationality: baptism certificate
Correction of date of aliyah: foreign passport with which aliyah was made
Correction of marital status: arriage, divorce or death certificate
Tip
The consular department will not accept any visitors without an appointment being scheduled. Collection and drop offs of documents will only be done by appointment from 12:00 - 14:00 daily, please bring along personal ID or an accreditation letter for a courier.
Required presence at the Consulate
The applicant is obligated to appear in person at the mission.
The service enables Israeli citizens and residents to submit a request to correct the following details in the Population Registry:
Request to correct a name
The name is misspelled or there is an inconsistency between the Hebrew and Latin spelling of the first or last name.
The applicant's first or last name in the birth certificate does not match the record in the Population Registry.
Request to correct the place or date of birth (date and month)
Request to correct the year of birth
Request to correct the religion or nationality
Request to correct the date of aliyah
Request to correct the marital status

How to apply?
A request for completions and corrections in the Population Registry or in the Register of Births should be completed in two copies and brought, together with the required documents, for submission in person at an Israeli mission in the country where the applicant lives.
In a request to correct a minor's first name – both parents' consent is required.
