Renunciation of Israeli citizenship by an Israeli citizen residing in a foreign country.

This service enables an Israeli citizen who resides in a foreign country to submit an application to renounce their citizenship.
Required Documents To Apply
Applicant's ID card or passport.
Proof of additional citizenship, or of an assurance that the applicant will receive another citizenship when they have ceased being an Israeli citizen.
Proof that the applicant resides in a foreign country.
Tip
The service requires a fee.

There is no fee for issuing the renunciation of citizenship certificate, but an apostille stamp requires a fee.
Tip
The consular department does not use mail and delivery services; therefore, visitors are required to arrive to the embassy.

Payment is available via credit card only (no cash/app payment/bank transfer)

The applicant must appear in person at the mission.
Please note
For the application, we need the following documents:
1. Proof of Israeli citizenship (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
2. Evidence of foreign residency (confirmation of status as a permanent resident, residence permit, employment permit, etc.)
3. An official letter from the local authorities promising the granting of citizenship after relinquishing the Israeli citizenship (written in English, valid for two years)
4. Confirmation of regularization of military status/military service
5. A certificate indicating a change in the personal situation
6. Birth certificates of minors who are part of the application
