Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) is the official tourism management and promotion department governed by the Israel government to be responsible for tourism planning, development, and global marketing.
Israel Ministry of Tourism China office was established in 2009. The China headquarters is located in Shanghai. It is committed to promoting tourism exchanges and cooperation between Israel and China, and actively promotes the world-renowned travel destination Israel to China market to maintain the growth of Chinese tourists. Based on long term sound cooperation, Israel and China reached a mutual benefit agreement in 2016 that Chinese citizens can apply for an Israel visa with a maximum of 10 years validation, which greatly promotes tourism exchanges. The number of Chinese tourists had maintained double-digit growth for a long time and reached highest tourist record 156,000 in 2019.
Through cultural and tourism activity such as promotion event, food and wine tasting, City Walk, One Day in Israel, etc., Chinese people experienced and felt the unique charming of Israel without barrier. And through spreading by media channels, motivated the interest of learning Jewish culture and exploring Israel travel.
By participating in industry exhibitions, organizing road shows, training, and FAM trips, strengthened communication, exchange, and cooperation. Israel travels acquired good reputation and comments in China market by a greater variety of tour products and improving tourism experience for the Chinese.
In addition, IMOT China office proactively communicates with China government departments, industry associations and major airlines to cater to the needs of cooperation and friendship between two countries. In August 2023, Israel has been announced as one of the Chinese outbound destinations of group travel.
