Consulate holds event marking first anniversary of October 7 massacre
The Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai marked the solemn first anniversary of the barbaric October 7 terror attacks with an event at the consulate for members of the Israeli and Jewish communities of Shanghai.
Opening the event, the Consul General of Israel in Shanghai, Ravit Baer, addressed the attendees and emphasised the urgent need for the return of the 101 hostages that remain in Hamas captivity in Gaza.
In addition, participants viewed the short film "Tattooed for Life", which tells the story of tattoo artist Liraz Uliel, a survivor of the Nova festival massacre.
To cope with the grief and loss, Uliel created a fractal design that represents the lives of the victims, and invited those affected by the tragedy to have fragments of the design tattooed on their skin. By engaging with the stories of others, she found the courage to share her own and discovers the good along the way.
