The Embassy of Israel in Poland marked Israel’s 77th Independence Day with a heartfelt celebration, honoring shared values and diplomatic ties. The event paid tribute to the victims of October 7 and celebrated resilience through music, stories, and remembrance.

On 15 May 2025, the Embassy of Israel in Poland hosted an event to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Israel’s independence.
Among our distinguished guests was Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, who delivered a warm congratulatory speech on behalf of the Government of Poland.
Both Minister Bartoszewski and Israel’s Ambassador-Designate to Poland, Mr. Yaakov Finkelstein, emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship between Israel and Poland and expressed their shared hope for its continued growth.

The Embassy was honored to celebrate this meaningful occasion alongside representatives of the Polish government, parliament, regional and local authorities, the Jewish community, as well as members of the academic and cultural sectors.
While celebrating Israel’s freedom and independence, we also paid tribute to the Israeli hostages still held in Gaza, following the brutal attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. Some of the abductees were taken from the Nova music festival – a peace-focused event held in the desert near the Gaza border. During the attack, 378 people were killed and many others injured.

To share with our guests the stories of courage and resilience demonstrated by Israelis on that tragic day, we presented the exhibition “New Day Will Rise.” It features 15 personal accounts of ordinary civilians from all walks of life who, on 7 October, showed extraordinary bravery and strength as they fought to survive and protect others.
The exhibition was inspired by the project “One Day in October.” We extend our sincere thanks to its creators for allowing us to bring these powerful stories to audiences in Poland.

A special moment of the evening was dedicated to Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the Nova Festival massacre. Her inspiring recovery and musical talent have led her to represent Israel at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Representative Artistic Ensemble of the Polish Armed Forces, who delivered moving performances of “Hallelujah” and “Diva” – the songs that brought Israel Eurovision victories in 1979 and 1998.
We also thanks the partners and sponsors of the event: Club Level 27 and Der Elefant restaurant.
