Screams Before Silence, presents testimonies from victims, rescuers, and researchers about the violence perpetrated by Hamas on October 7

On June 19, in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, our embassy presented the film "Screams Before Silence," which captures powerful testimonies from survivors of the October 7 massacre, as well as from those released, first responders, and specialists.
At the beginning of the event, Ambassador Eran Yuvan emphasized that conflict-related sexual violence is a war crime and that Hamas's attacks against women in Israel should be considered a crime against humanity given the scale, severity, premeditated nature of the crimes. He also stressed the importance of condemning these atrocious acts, stating that doing so is not taking sides in the conflict, but rather defending women everywhere.
Following the screening, crisis intervention psychologist Alejandra Giesecke assessed the tremendous harm to victims and the normalization of sexual abuse in conflict.
