Ambassador Ofir Akunis -- Consul General of Israel in New York -- hosted a special event Monday evening, bringing together prominent social media influencers from the New York region who advocate for Israel. Akunis expressed his gratitude to the influencers for their important work on behalf of the Jewish State.
“On behalf of the State of Israel and its citizens, a heartfelt thank you to all of you – the influencers who stand at the forefront of advocacy. Just as our brave soldiers are on the battlefield defending the citizens of Israel, you are on another frontline – shaping public opinion and standing for the truth against Hamas’ lies and their allies, the enemies of Israel,"Akunis said. "We will bring all the hostages back from the Hamas tunnels, we will totally destroy and remove Hamas from Gaza, and we will win on the advocacy front as well,” he added.
The guest speaker at the event was Raif Rashid, who shared his personal story as a survivor of the Nova Festival massacre. On October 7, he was running a food stand at the festival with his brother when they witnessed the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists before managing to escape. Recently, Rashid opened a Druze restaurant in New York, using food as a tool for healing, unity, and cultural connection.
