Regev siblings hold press Question and Answerers alongside director Yoram Zak
NEW YORK CITY – This afternoon, the Consulate General of Israel in New York hosted a private screening of “Brother and Sister in Captivity,” a documentary film profiling Maya and Itay Regev. The Regev siblings – 21 and 18 years old – were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th, held captive by the terror group in Gaza for nearly two months, and released in late November.
The film is nominated for an International Emmy Award. Following its screening, Maya, Itay and documentary director Yoram Zak held a press conference and answered questions from the audience – 80 journalists, social media influencers and other invitees. Also in attendance were the siblings’ father, Ilan, and Noa Argamani, who was rescued from Hamas captivity by the IDF in June of this year.
Consul General of Israel in New York, Ambassador Ofir Akunis, delivered remarks. “Your journey is an anchor of the greater trauma of the Nova festival, the Hamas massacre, and the war Israel has been fighting for almost a year. Now, thanks to the powerful documentary to which you have given your voice, the whole world will come to know your story.”
