The Media Department at the Consulate General of Israel in New York serves as the communication spearhead for Israeli diplomacy in the region.
Our department operates across various media platforms, excelling in both digital and traditional spheres. In the digital realm, we specialize in making the Israeli message accessible through a variety of online platforms. We maintain a dynamic presence on social media and create visual content.
Simultaneously, we foster strong relationships with traditional media outlets - print, radio, and television - serving as a reliable source of information about Israel.
The department organizes press briefings, facilitates interviews with key figures, and provides comprehensive background materials, including visual and written information.
We combine innovative communication strategies with advanced data analysis to reach diverse audiences and convey the Israeli story authentically, both in digital and traditional media.
Our goal is to create meaningful dialogue, debunk misinformation, and showcase the multifaceted aspects of Israel across all relevant media channels.
Head of Media Department: Ariella Rada- Spokesperson and Consul for Media Affairs
Ariella Rada serves as Spokesperson and Consul for Media Affairs at the Consulate
General of Israel in New York, overseeing NY, NJ, PA, OH and DE.
In this capacity, she manages Israel's relationship with traditional media – broadcast,
print and online – as well as social media, where she is responsible for telling Israel’s
multifaceted story.
Rada joined Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2015. In 2016, she was appointed
Deputy Ambassador of Israel to Peru. From 2018 to 2021, she served as Consul for
Academic and Community Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest, in
Chicago.
Rada earned a BA in Government, Diplomacy & Strategy at Reichman University in
Herzliya.
In the IDF, she served as a company commander and trained new recruits.
Rada grew up most of her life in the southern city of Be’er Sheva. She speaks English,
Hebrew, Spanish and Amharic. In her spare time, Rada loves traveling, singing and
reading great books.
