The Israeli ID card (Teudat Zehut) and biometric passport (if available) must be submitted during the meeting.
For holders of a biometric passport, a new traveling document will be issued only after the name change is processed.
Processing time for a name change takes up to three months.
Israeli citizens living abroad, whose marital status has changed following marriage, divorce or widowhood.
A change of name comes into force only after it has been approved by the Population and Immigration Authority. Following the approval, an updated passport may be issued by the mission where the notice was submitted.
An updated ID card will be issued by the Population and Immigration Authority in Israel only.
The applicant for the service must appear in person at the mission.
The applicant must complete the notice of choice of name and the notice of change in marital status (marriage, divorce, widowhood) and bring it in person to an Israeli mission in the country where he lives
