Marking 60 years of diplomatic relations, Presidents of Israel and Germany arrive in Israel

President Israel, Isaac Herzog, concluded his state visit to Germany today, Tuesday, and returned to Israel.

Accompanying him on the flight was President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is beginning his own state visit to Israel - their reciprocal visits have been undertaken to mark 60 years of full diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Steinmeier was welcomed as the official guest of President Herzog at a formal reception held at Ben-Gurion Airport.

The two Presidents will open the visit with a joint tour of the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem.

Later, at a special ceremony at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem, President Herzog will bestow the Israel Presidential Medal of Honor on President Steinmeier.
