A Day of Remembrance: 500 Long Days of Captivity

The Embassy of Israel gathered to solemnly mark the 500 long days of captivity for our Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

500 Long Days of Captivity

Today, the Embassy of Israel in Yangon gathered to solemnly mark a significant and painful milestone — 500 days since the abduction of innocent civilians by Hamas.

Initially, we marked the 100th day of their captivity, but as time continues to pass, the weight of each passing day becomes heavier. The banner that once read "100 Days" now reads "500 Days." 500 days is not just a number; it signifies the ongoing torment endured by innocent Israeli hostages and the unrelenting grief their families are experiencing.

This tragic timeline underscores the urgent need for global attention and decisive action.

Our thoughts are firmly with those still held hostage and their loved ones, and we remain committed to ensuring that they return home safely. We will continue to work tirelessly toward this goal until all are reunited with their families.
