עדויות של ראשי ערים בפלורידה מביקורם בישראל לאחר השביעי באוקטובר
לאחר האירועים הטרגיים ב-7 באוקטובר, כאשר טרוריסטים של חמאס פתחו במתקפה אכזרית על ישראל, הגבירה הקונסוליה הכללית של ישראל במיאמי את מאמציה לחזק את הקשר עם עיריות וקהילות מקומיות על מנת לטפח הבנה ומודעות עמוקה לחומרת ההתקפות ולחזק את התמיכה בישראל בתקופה מאתגרת זו.
אנו פועלים בשיתוף פעולה עם ראשי ערים, נבחרי ציבור וארגוני קהילה בפלורידה, מיזורי, קנזס ופורטו ריקו. מאמצים אלו נועדו ליצור חזית מאוחדת לגינוי מעשי הטרור ולתמיכה בביטחונם ורווחתם של אזרחי ישראל. בעבודה צמודה עם רשויות מקומיות, אנו מבטיחים שקולות הסולידריות והתמיכה בישראל יישמעו בקול רם וברור.
אנו שמחים על שיתוף הפעולה עם ארגונים כמו התנועה למלחמה באנטישמיות (CAM) בו ראשי ערים מפלורידה הגיעו לישראל בעקבות אירועי ה-7 באוקטובר וחזו במו עיניהם במה שנותר מיישובי העוטף, פגשו את משפחות החטופים ושמעו סיפורים אישיים מאנשים שאיבדו את אהוביהם.
שיתוף הפעולה חידד את הבנתם של ראשי הערים לגבי המצב בישראל וההשפעה של אירועי אוקטובר על ישראל והעולם וכמובן טיפח רשת תמיכה חזקה יותר בתוך העיריות שלהם.

Larisa Svechin, Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach: "Meeting with the families of the hostages and the families of the victims, who were murdered in inexplicable barbaric and animalistic ways, solidified my suspicion that mainstream media is either purposefully or willingly spreading inaccurate and outright lies to the American people. Further it is clear that they continue to amplify the voices of anti-Semitic civil society and groups".
Brent Latham, Mayor of North Bay Village: "We must share what we can about the truths of it all. And so there are some photos here. Haphazard and incomplete, they can tell only some of the story. From our eyes. They want for our words as well. We can tell, and so we can support in some minor way. A grain of sand each for the beach of righteousness. Having been there, we will support Israel, by telling what we can. This is what I saw. This is what I heard. This is what I know to be truth".
