The Pride Reception at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC,

A delegation from Florida and Missouri attended the Pride Reception at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC, once again being the largest delegation from outside the DC area. Ambassador Michael Herzog hosted the annual event highlighting the advances and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community from around the world. This year carried special significance in light of the war and the wave of antisemitism and anti-Israel hate. Many friends and allies of the LGBTQ+ community attended in a show of support. The guests and team from the Consulate General of Israel in Miami included Manny Orozco, Government Relations for Miami Dade County; Carlos Becerra, Director of the Florida International University in DC Center and Government Relations; Cindy Brown, Coordinator for Lamda Living; Rori Picker-Neiss, former JCRC Director of the St. Louis Jewish Federation; Eugene Ramirez, TV reporter/host; and the LGBTQ+ relations manager at the Consulate. All had the opportunity to hear from US Congressman Ritchie Torres, IDF LGBTQ+ soldiers, a Nova Festival survivor, comedian Judy Gold, and pro-Israel social media influencer Daniel Ryan Spaulding.
